Co-Evolution of Java and Data-Oriented Programming: Practice Aspect

Abstract

The article shows in practice that changes in Java and data-oriented programming (DOP) adhere to the principles of evolution. The development of DOP, from the foundational ideas introduced by Brian Goetz in version 1.0 to the refined mental model in version 1.1, is explored. A graph model of Java features within the DOP paradigm is proposed. Practical applications of DOP show how it makes code concise and secure.
